IEEE event held at the Interlocken
resort in Broomfield April 2005
Here some photos from a IEEE robot contest that happened to be hosted
this year in Colorado. A lot of the contest work and design was done
by Kerwin Lumpkins of DARC. The contest is designed around
the idea of a automated warehouse. The robots task is to move red
panted pop cans about to different 'rooms', while not grabbing or knocking
over 'workers'. The contest proved to be very challenging.
Lots of the robots were having problems. Out of the 27 some robots
about 5 were able to complete some of the most difficult tasks.
I only managed to get about half the robots photographed. About
half of those photos did come out too good. So below is only a fraction
of the happiness. Still it gives you an idea of how creative the
events were. Click on a photo to get a bigger version.
