IEEE event held at the Interlocken resort in Broomfield April 2005
Here some photos from a IEEE robot contest that happened to be hosted this year in Colorado.  A lot of the contest work and design was done by Kerwin Lumpkins of  DARC.  The contest is designed around the idea of a automated warehouse.  The robots task is to move red panted pop cans about to different 'rooms', while not grabbing or knocking over 'workers'.  The contest proved to be very challenging.  Lots of the robots were having problems.  Out of the 27 some robots about 5 were able to complete some of the most difficult tasks.

I only managed to get about half the robots photographed.  About half of those photos did come out too good.  So below is only a fraction of the happiness.  Still it gives you an idea of how creative the events were.  Click on a photo to get a bigger version.
